As the Arlberg route was impassable tho ‘train made a long detour through Munich and arrived three hours late, having encountered heavy snow. The docal prefect gave the. Prince an official welcome, and many visitors were presajit to greet him. It is hoped that he will be allowed to enjoy privacy and quiet during his holiday. Skiing conditions are excellent. Kitzbuehel presents an exotic air with the gaily-painted house fronts, the multi-coloured costumes of the skiers and the background of snowcovered mountains, a London cable states. The Prince of Wales went touring the town in a vivid yellow jersey, black and yellow check plus fours and high doeskin zip-fastened boots. AUSTRIAN PRECAUTIONS Vienna, February 5. The Austrian authorities are taking special precautions to prevent the Prince of Wales being harassed by sightseers and have arranged for a number of detectives on skis to watch over him unobtrusively while he is skiing.
