FORECAST FOR TO-DAY’S WEATHER.
Scattered rain in North Island. Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for 24 hours' ending 4 p.m. to-day:— A slight low-pressure trough is crossing the.’North Island, and barometers have risen over the South Island. Forecast: Winds becoming southerly generally; light in’the far south; elsewhere temporarily moderate to strong, but later decreasing again. Seas rather rough between Banks Peninsula and Castlepoint; elsewhere in New Zealand waters smooth to moderate. Light southerly winds, later tending east and north, in the eastern Tasman Sea ; seas smooth to moderate. Weather: Some scattered and- mainly light rains over the North Island and eastern 'districts of the south; elsewhere fine. Temperatures cooler, but rising again to-morrow.
