SETTLING IN HAWERA
W. Pascoe to School Jayson and Havering Dominion Special Sebvice. Christchurch, February 6. W. Pascoe, who hns been attached to T. H. Gillett’s stable for some time past, has decided to settle in Hawera for the winter season. He has been engaged to school Havering and Jayson there and will do hurdle riding for L. G. Morris. Royal Sceptre and Sun Dancer, in charge of the Omoto trainer, E. Kingan, arrived at Riccarton to-day. Both are engaged on Saturday and Royal Sceptre is to go on to Wingatui for next week’s meeting. Fleeting Glance has resumed active work in preparation for autumn and winter racing. Her trainer, S. Barr, is educating Battle Queen as a hurdler and in some private schooling she has shaped very encouragingly. She is a six-year-old by Paladin from Kai Arahi. by Tractor frorm Arai Te Urn, by Birkenhead, so hns everything on the breeding side to rec'omniend her as a jumper.
