Cabinet decided that it had no recommendation to make to his Exdellency. The position now is that the decision for Captain Knyvett’s dismissal stands.” [The dismissal of Captain Knyvett from the volunteers followed the alleged!}' unauthorised visit of a party- from Auckland under his command to Fort Kelb. urn, Ngahauranga. Great public feeling was aroused in Auckland, leading to a Court-martial, and a debate in Parliament. In the final result, military discipline was vindicated.]
