Warm Day in Wellington A very warm day was experienced at Wellington yesterday, a moderate northerly wind prevailing. The minimum temperature on Monday night was 64.3 deg., and the maximum yesterday 82.3 deg. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 77.9 deg. ' Masterton again sweltered in extreme heat, tlie shade temperature at 2 p.in. being 89deg. Throughout' the day there was a very slight breeze from the north-west. There was a continuation of warm, sunny conditions at Wanganui. A westerly breeze was responsible for lower temperatures than those ruling on Monday. The heat wave was unabated at Waipukurau, where the temperature at 2 p.m. was S7deg., dropping by 7.30 p.m. to 77deg. Very heavy showers were experienced early in tlie morning at Auckland, followed by fine but cloudy and unsettled conditions during the day, with a light wind varying between north-west and south-west. The barometer fell slowly to 30.00 in. Christchurch experienced real summer conditions again. The sky was beautifully clear and the heat was tempered by a fresh north-easterly wind. Tiie maximum temperature was 75.7 deg. There was a continuation of warm summer weather at Dunedin, with a moderate north-east wind and sunshine for the greater part of the day.
