Relief For Farmers “It was never intended that the Agricultural Act should provide immediate financial relief for farmers,” said the Hon. C. E. Immediate financial relief could, best be given by relief from tlie burden of interest, which constituted, in most cases, over a third of the total farming costs. Death on Wharf. The Automobile Association (Wellington) lias decided to assist motorists going to the rally at Wanganui this month with Its patrols and in starting competitors, but not to offer a prize for the most successful member of the club, as the organisers of the rally had. suggested. Mr. E. Palliser said that it was a reliability trial in which the trade only was concerned, and the chairman, Mr. E. A. Batt, considered it would be a farce. The private motorist was not going to travel hundreds of miles for the prize offered. It was more a trade show and not an association affair.
