Sir Harold Beauchamp has returned to Wellington from a brief business visit to Auckland. Major-General Sir W. L. H. Sinclair Burgess, General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Military Forces, left Wellington last evening for the south.

The Very Rev. Fathers Reardon and Cullen, Dunedin, will leave for America by the Mariposa from Auckland on March 9.

Dr. Graham Robertson was granted leave of absence for a tour abroad by the executive of the Automobile Association (Wellington) last night. The chairman, Mr. E. A. Batt, wished him on behalf of the association a pleasant tour.

Mr. J. Brown, advertising manager in presenting him with an inscribed silver cigarette case, wished Mr. Hawke the same success in his new position as had characterised his work while associated with "The Dominion.”
