London Tallow: Market firm, with an upward tendency. . , Hemp: Manila—Market easier. K "■rade for January-March shipment quoted sellers at £l3/5/-. Sisal—Market quiet but steadier at the elose. No. 1 ■■■rade for February-April shipment valued at £l5/2/6; April-June shipment sold at £l5/5/-. New Zealand— Nothing to report. , , I’eas: Maples—Market has advanced on adverse crop reports for Tasmania and New Zealand. About the beginning of the month “A” grade Tasmanian for Febru-ary-March shipment sold at 43/6. Later up to 46/-. New Zealand —Recently offered at 46/- for March-April shipment, and this is considered the present value. London Wool Market The Bank of New South Wales lias received the following cable message from its London office dated February 1 :— London wool sales continue show strong demand for all descriptions’of crossbreds at full last sales rates. Advance quoted January 15 not now quite so pronounced ; very few New Zealand merinos on offer Mutton : Ewes. 3 1-8(1. to 4 Jd.; wethers, 4d. to 5Jd. Lamb. 6 7-Bd. to 7 7-Bd. Beet, ojd to 4d. Pears: American pears selling well. Winter Nells, 15/- to 15/6. London Opossum Skin Sales Dalgety ami Co., Ltd., report having received a cable from their head office on the furred skin sales recently held, statin'' that greve were in good demand ami sol’d at a 5 per cent, advance on October rates. Darke were unsaleable.
