2YA Programme Appreciated
Sir,—lt has been my doubtful privilege —or should I say misfortune —to read many letters of a condemnatory nature in reference to the programmes presented by 2YA. ‘ As regards musical education I am only an.ordinary man in the street, one of whom I think comprise the vast majority of listeners, and as such take off my hat to the selectors of this evening's programme, with especial reference to the hour-with Gilbert and Sullivan., If I am not mistaken I think it is in one of Aesop’s Fables that the story is told of the cook who committed suicide for lack of encouragement, because he was never able to cook a meal to merit the approval of his master. • May I. be permitted to state that this appreciation is given to avoid so dire a fate 1 Will anyone else help?—-I am, etc., ENCOURAGEMENT.
