December Registrations TOTAL DOWN TO 54,707 Tiie report of the Unemployment Board on Hie registration of unemployed us at December 22, 1934, shows a still further decline in tiie total number of males who are wholly or partly a charge on the Unemployment Fund. The present total is 54,707, or 1732 fewer than tiie total of 50,439 recorded on November 24, 1934. A comparison of the latest returns witli the figures recorded a year ago shows the present position to be very satisfactory. The number in receipt of part-time employment under Scheme No. 5, or on sustenance in lieu of relief work as at December 22, 1934, was 31.226 compared with 37,870 on December 23, 1933. or a decrease of 3044. The number in full-time employment, but assisted by wages subsidies from rhe Unemployment Fund, was 20,481 on the same date, compared with 29.870 a year ago, a decrease of 9.359. Tins makes the total number who are a charge on the Unemployment Fluid 54,707 as compared with 67.740 a year ago, or a total reduction of 13,033.
