New South Wales Areas TWO MEN DROWNED Sydney, January 15. The central and southern tablelands and south-western districts of the State have been lashed by terrific storms. Flooded roads and broken wire resulted in communications being disorganised and a number of towns being practically isolated. The main business centre at Orange was flooded to a depth of two feet, and extensive damage was done. Tumut was swept by a hurricane, and other centres reported heavy losses in orchards and crops. The telephone switchboard at Dorrige' on the North Coast was struck by lightning and burst into flames. Two tragedies are reported. Frederick Smith, aged 22. was drowned in attempting to cross a flooded stream on horseback near Wagga. Ernest Flynn, aged 52, was drowned -when his car was swept away by a wall of water which came down a usually dry creek bed near Bathurst.
