ELECTION IN BRITAIN
Polling Expected Near End of Year NEWSPAPER REPORT (Received January 15, 10.30 p.m.) London. January 15. The “Daily Mail’s” political correspondent says it is almost certain that a general election will be held in the late autumn. It is suggested that the polling should occur early in December. Ministers and party officials who have examined the situation have concluded that there is no object in waiting until 19361 They think the India Reform Bill will become law by October at the latest, also the Housing Bill. They believe that an attractive programme of reconstruction at home and Empire proposals could then be drawn up.
