October-December Shipments SMALL DECREASE IN LAMB With the exception of lamb and frozen beef, shipments of meat during the period 'October-December, the first three months of the 1934-35 season, show considerable increases compared with those of the same period of the previous season. The quanitty of boneless beef shipped was 87,319 bags, as against 42,067 bags, an increase of 45,252. Shipments from New Zealand to the United Kingdom during December were: Carcases mutton, 106,618; carcases lamb, 769,237; quarters beef (frozen), 4676; quarters beef (chilled). 4220; carcases pork, 72.484 ; bags boneless beef, 34,591. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board is advised by cable from its London office that the shipments from Australia and South America to the United Kingdom during the mouth of December were as follow :— Australia : Carcases, mutton, 125,819 ; carcases lamb. 862,257; quarters beef (frozen), 45.495. South America: Carcases mutton, 5086; carcases lamb, 370,861; quarters beef (frozen), 2266; quarters beef (chilled). 394,010. No dividends are being paid on the capital of £40,000 preference and £60,000 ordinary, and the debit balance is being carried forward. The directors report that trading conditions in New Zealand showed it to be inadvisable to continue operations, and it was decided to cease activities in the Dominion. ANTHONY HORDERN Preference Dividend Anthony Hordern and Sons, Limited. Sydney, has paid further preference dividend arrears, a distribution being made last week in respect of the halfyear ended February 28. 1931. The rate is 7| per cent, per annum, less the statutory reduction of 221 per cent. This is the sixth payment since November, 1933. Butter and Cheese Weak Joseph Nathan and Company, Ltd., have received from their principals, Trengrouse and Nathan, Ltd..
