“At 11.5 a.m. yesterday, October 31, a heavy rumbling was heard followed by a heavy jarring of the earth—so heavy that leaves on shrubs rustled,” writes a Rangataua reader. “The jar lasted about a second. There was also a double jarring here at about 10 p.m. on Sunady last.”
