Cricket Championships To-day GOLF PROGRAMME attractive outdoor sports programme has been arranged today. Some bright play should be seen in the Wellington Cricket Association’s senior championship competition, when the opening series of matches will be concluded. Ou the Busin Reserve, Wellington College Old Bovs, with 139 on for the loss of three wickets, will continue their first innings against University, who have not yet been to the wickets. Midland, who have lost eight wickets for 101 rune, will carry oa against Wellinrton on the Basin Reserve. Institute, who scored- 155 for the loss of eight 'wickets on the opening day, will resume their first innings against Kilbirnio on the Kilbirnie Reserve. Kilbirnie have still to take strike. The Poneke Amateur Cycling Club will conduct a 22 miles’ teams’ race for the Ericsson Shield, starting from salek Street, Kilbirnie, at 2.30. Pennant Bowls. Bowls within the ■Wellington Bowling Centre will commence in earnest when the senior and junior pennant competione will bo opened. Friendly matches under the centre also will be played. The Golf Card. The 'Wellington club will hold a men’s foursomes competition for the Ranfurly Cup on the links at Heretaunga this afternoon. A medal round will be played on the Shandon links this afternoon. A consolation medal round will be played by the Shandon ladies’ club this afternoon for players on 30-36 handicap. The Karori club will close the winter season this afternoon, when a mixed foursome for a trophy donated by the president will be played. The 'Waiwetu club will commence its summer season to-day. The Titahi ladies’ club will play a medal round for the Roma Cup to-mor-row. A match will be played between W.nwetu and Wbakatiki on, the Waiwctu links to-morrow. The Mornington. club will bold a bogey competition, to-morrow for players who have not won a trophy this season. Rifle Shooting.

The iSuburbs Defence Rifle Club will fire the first o£ the two service matches (musketry) at Trentham. to-day. Four special trophies have been allotted to the four highest aggregates in this series. The Karori Rifle Club will fire the first musketry shoot of the season this afternoon. The shoot will count for the Willoughby Cup, and will also entitle members to their free grant of ammunition for next season.

Club Rowing Races. The ■Wellington Rowing Club will hold the final race of the current club competition this afternoon between crews stroked by Luke and McNairn.
