Sunshine With Some Cloudiness

At Wellington yesterday the weather was fine and mild, but it .became rather cloudy during the afternoon. A fresh northerly wind blew during tlie day, but moderated late iu the afternoon. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 59 deg., and ihe maxlmtini for the (lay was 62.5 feg. There was a continuance of bright' sunshine at Palmerston North. There was ft continuance of bright sunshine at Masterton. and a slight easterly breeze tempered the beat to some extent. A frost of 3.4 dog. was recorded in the morning. Fine sunny weather wjis exixn'ienced at Wanganui. Generally hot, sunny weather, with a few light clouds, prevailed at Auckland. The wind was light from tlie south. At 4 p.m. the temperature was 6S deg. The barometer was falling slowly. It was flue at Christchurch, with a strong south-west breeze in the morning which moderated in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 65 2 (leg. The barometer was steady at SO.OOin. A long spell of fine summer weather was broken at. Dunedin, light rain falling at intervals throughout the day.
