OFFICER FAREWELLED

To Train at British Staff College * Dominion Special Service. Wanganui; November 1. Captain D. T. Maxwell, N.Z.S.C., Adjutant of the Second WellingtonWest Coast Infantry Battalion, who *s proceeding to Camberley Staff College (England) for a two years’ course, was farewelled by officers of the regiment and kindred units at a dinner at Koster’s Hotel. The toast of the guest of the evening was proposed by Lieut.-Colonel J. It. Cade, who was in command of the regiment for four of the six years of Captain Maxwell’s term in Wanganui. The proposer referred to Captain Maxwell’s capabilities as an officer and to the- high regard in which he was held in the city. The regiment regretted very much losing nn* officer of his efficiency.' Congratulations were extended to him on gaining the Coveted privilege of being able to undergo training at Camberley. The toast of the regiment was proposed by the Mayor of Wanganui, Mr. N. G. Armstrong, who referred to the fine effect military training could have on the physique and moral well-being of youth.
