GOOD PROSPECTS
University Rowing Club
A large number of students attended the annual meeting of the Victoria University College Rowing. Club, on Thursday night.. jfc C. E. Dixon, who presided, said the club was now the owner of an eight-oared boat equal to any in the Dominion, and with this decided acquisition, a much more active and successful future was anticipated for the club. While the club had yet no sheds of its bwn, it was hoped that within the next year, it would be in a position- to build. To this end, it was proposed to obtain permission to hold a raffle In the meantime, - the Star Boating Club had allowed the eight to be housed in its sheds. It was suggested that the clubs constitution be overhauled and that a fouroared boat be negotiated for.' Every effort, it was felt, should be made to enlist the interest and enthusiasm of new oarsmen. The, following officers were elected:— Patron, Sir Francis Bell; president. Professor B-.E. Murphy; vice-presidents. Professors T. A. Hunter. P. W. Robertson, Messrs. H. H. Cornish, K.C., A. D. Bayfeild, W. Simons, F. H. Mullins and C Oswin; club captain, Mr. H. M. McIntosh ; hon. secretary, Mr. D. F. McLeod ; hon. treasurer, Mr. F. J. McWhinney ; committee. Messrs* F. Eggers, Milne, and W. M. Willis.
