NO CRICKET VISIT
Australia States Reasons
Melbourne, September 20.
The Board of Control’s reasons for refusing to permit a cricket team to visit New Zealand were stated to-dav. It is considered that after the great strain of the British tour the Test players would require a rest after their return to Australia, while to send a State team would upset the arrangements for Sheffield Shield matches.
LEG-THEORY CONFERENCE
London, September 20.
Messrs. Busliby and Bull arrived at Lord’s, with Dr. Macdonald and Sir Stanley Jackson to attend the legtheory meeting, as to which extraordinary precautions were taken to ensure secrecy.
Eventually Mr. Aird. the M.C.C. assistant secretary, stated that the meeting had discussed cricket matters generally.
MARKING OF PITCHES

London, September 21. Ijlie “Daily Express” understands that the possibilities of some new marking of pitches, making part of the wicket a forbidden area for bowlers, was discussed without a decision being reached.
