BRIDESMAID’S SUICIDE
Shoots Herself After
Wedding
London, September 20.
Miss Mary Peel, niece of Earl Peel, after acting as bridesmaid at a big society wedding on Tuesday, went home, assembled her brother’s sporting gun, and committed suicide. The Earl’s brother, Colonel the Hon. Sidney Cornelius Peel, adopted Miss Mary Peel when her father, Rev. the Hon. Maurice Peel, was killed in the war. Miss Mary Peel recently spent a three weeks’ holiday in Russia, and returned in the best of spirits. She seemed happy at the wedding. An inquest was held to-day. Lady Delia Peel told the coroner that she had no explanation to offer. There had never been any suggestion of morbidness.
A verdict was returned of suicide while of unsound mind.
