Old Rams for Food
Sir.—l was pleased to see “Farmer” support Mr. .Semple in endeavouring to expose the vile practice of buying .-.nd selling, at a huge profit, old rams for human consumption. Imagine a worker’s money, hard earned, being spent on such meat. Surely in a country like New Zealand, it is a disgraceful state of affairs.
Old cows suffering from disease have also been put on the meat market in the same way. Mr. Semple deserves the thanks of all meat consumers for the fearless stand he has taken in the House.—l am, ete..
