Cases at Hamilton By Telegraph —Pr»ss Association. Hamilton, August 22. Steve Diniinikovicb, aged 45, found guilty on a charge of bookmaking in Hamilton, was fined £5O by Mr. Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court at Hamilton this morning. The evidence showed that the accused took bets with a constable who visited the town for the purpose. On a charge of wilfully attempting to defeat the course of justice at the trial of'John Atirilu Asher, on June 6, by asking a witness to alter his evidence in a material particular to assist accused, Eric Troutbeck Hutton, of Tokaanu, was found not guilty. A verdict of not guilty was returned in a bookmaking charge against Hilary Archibald Quin. The judge, summing up, remarked that looking at the whole evidence there was sufficient in the police case to show that accused was carrying on bookmaking.
