Cabaret Party A delightful cabaret party was held on Saturday evening at tlie Scorching Bay Cabaret by members of the staff of the North Island Motor Union Insurance Company. The programme was varied with Monte Carlos and an exhibition dance by Miss Muriel IVilbJn and her brother, Mr. Ken Wilton. Supper and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne’’ brought a most enjoyable evening to a close. Among those present were Mesdamcs Bernard Laukshear and IV'. D. VI ilson. Misses N. Pritchard, D. McLean, J. Karori Golf Club Dance
The Kelburn Kiosk was crowded on Saturday evening last, when members of the Karori Golf Club and thenfriends, numbering well over 200, enjoyed their first club dance. It was <1 most successful and happy gathering, and was well attended by members from other golf clubs, including some from Wairarapa. The enthusiastic committee consisted of Mesdames RMartin, R. Herbertville Dance
At the Herbertville Hall recently a most successful dance was held in aid of the funds of St. Michael’s and All Angels’ Church, Porangahau. The hall was charmingly decorated, the walls being hidden by a profusion of greenery and pink flowers, while from the ceiling hung silver flowers, streamers and greenery. An iced cake made by Mrs. P. Morgans was won by Miss Valerie Morgans. Mrs. S. Speedy, Mrs. Gollen, Mr. R. Brightwell and Mr. D. Gollen were the winners of the lucky spot and statue waltzes.
Extras were played by Mrs. S. Speedy and Miss Reeves. It was regretted by all that Mrs. F. D. Herrich, who always organises this dance, was unable to be present owing to illness.
