Stedman (New Zealand) defeated Freshwater. 5-7, 6-4, 6-0. ’ In the Anglo-Japanese match at Eastbourne, Perry defeated Fujikura, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4, 10-8. Austin defeated Yainagishl, 6-1, 6-1, 6-2. TILDEN FAVOURS BRITAIN London, July 19. W. T. Tilden, the famous tennis player, has*arrived from America on holiday. He says that Britain is undoubtedly the champion tennis nation. “I believe,” he said, "that Britain will retain the Davis Cup.”
