Wintry Conditions Continue

Wellington experienced another cold, squally day yesterday, a strong southerly wind blowing throughout. The highest gust was one of 54 miles an hour, at 2.20 p.m. The temperature at 4 p.m. was 40.1 degrees, the maximum during the day being 46.2 degrees. The weather was tine and sunny in Palmerston North in the morning, but heavy rain fell at intervals during the afternoon. Conditions were cold throughout the day. There was a continuation of bitterly cold, showery weather at Masterton. A strong gusty wind from the south blew throughout the day. A boisterous southerly wind, which commenced to blow on Tuesday, developed in intensity at Wanganui yesterday, bringing with it a good deal of rain. Conditions generally were cold and miserable. There was a continuation of tine, sunny weather at Auckland, but a moderate south-west wind blowing made conditions very cold. The barometer showed very little movement and registered 30.00111.
