Active Trading Yesterday market very firm Business was active on the Wellington stock and share market yesterday, 20 X to? recorded. Auckland Gas sold at 25/6. and Wellington Gas at 37/6. Insurance shares showed a further hardening tendency. Nationals sold at a new high level of 20/-. Sellers stayed at that price, buyers offering 19/11. fcew Zealands at 60/-. Queenslands at 68/6, South British at 78/6. and Standards at 61/3. were firmer, but sellers stayed out. Gear Meats made a sharp rise, and sold at a new peak level of 29/-. Southlands were firmer at 63/-, and New Zealand Refrigerating were steady, with no sellers offering. Coal and brewery shares were strong. Miscellaneous shares were firm at about late rates. Colonial Sugars were sold at £64/7/6 and £64/10/-. buyers staying in at £64. New Zealand Drugs were a shade up at 74/3. Mining shares were very dull.
