Rayner Retains Title By 'l'elegrapli—Press Association. Christchurch, May 8. Clarrie Rayner successfully defended the New Zealand professional featherweight boxing championship tonight against the challenge of Percy Hawes in 11 15-rouiid contest. Tlie contest went the full distance. Hawes put Kayner down for a count of five soon after the first gong, but Rayner recovered from the mishap and won handsomely on points.
