TO-DAY’S WEATHER FORECAST.
Meteorological Office, Wellington, Tuesday, May 8. 1934, at 4 p.m. An intense anti-cyclone has extended across the Tasman Sea on to New Zealand, while pressure has remained low to the eastward. Forecast: Moderate to strong southerly winds, of gale force in places, especially along the east coast, but decreasing to-morrow. Seas heavy in New Zealand waters between Akaroa and East Cape; rough elsewhere on the east coast and also north of Farewell Spit; moderate south of Farewell Spit. Moderate to strong south to squth-east winds and rather rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Weather mainly fair to fine in western and inland districts; elsewhere changeable and squally, with passing 'showers. Improving to-morrow, except on parts of the east coast. Temperatures cold, with frosts inland.
