The weather was cold and showery, with a gale of wind, for training operations this morning, the conditions militating against fast times, though the track was in good order. The best work on the flat was done by Pomp. Grumpy. Cawbeen. Snowball. Knoilmere, Spiral, and Rust. The only jumping was by Tunbridge, who went over threfe. big fences, while Brown Abbey jumped five hurdles. Pomp (W. Rayner) ran five furlongs nicely in 1.3 1-5. and Spiral (Rayner) and Rust (Fearn) went seven furlongs, the latter being a shade in fi-ont, in 1.33, both going well. The first half-mile took 524. , Royal Bengal ran five furlongs in 1.4 1-5, and Knoilmere went six in 1.17 J. the first half-mile in 50 1-5. Grumpy and Cawbeen were companions over half a mile, being together all the way in 49L The former was going a shade better nt the finish.
