Though Pukekohe and other locallygrown potatoes are still available in large quantities, wholesale merchants now prefer to handle southern on the basts of quality. They claim that the locals are going off. while southern show an improvement witli each shipment. Southern table are selling at £G/10/- per ton. The onion market is steady. The latest Canterbury arrivals have been of better quality. ■ Local are quoted at 6/9 per cwt., and southern at 5/9. There is no change in the price, of fowl wheat, though offerings from the south hfjre been rather more plentiful. Maize, too, still sells at 4/6 per bushel through city stores. There has been no change in the pollard market since prices were reduced 10/- per ton on Wednesday last. There is no change in the market for horse feed.
