South Island-Melbourne DUNEDIN CRITICISM By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, May 8. A meeting of the committee of t.h° Dunedin Chamber of Commerce, with representatives of other bodies, was held to-night to consider the latest phases of the proposed MelbourneSouth Island shipping service. After discussion, which at times became quite animated, it was decided to write to the Union Company pointing out the dissatisfaction that existed over the unsuitability of the steamer it was proposed to place in the service. It was also decided to write to the Government protesting against a subsidy being paid for a service that was not suitable for the occasion. A further decision reached was to request the Mayor to call a public meeting of protest if satisfaction is uot obtained from Hie Union Company.
