GANDHI AND VICEROY
Move For Rapprochement Calcutta, May 6. Miss Muriel Lester and Miss Agatha Harrison. English women disciples of Mr. Gandhi, are on their way to Simla in an endeavour to secure a rapprochement between the Viceroy, Lord Williifgdon, and Mr. Gandhi, now that the. latter bus decided to suspend the civil disobedience movement. Lord Willingdon is flying to England on May 15, and it is believed that the women will endeavour to induce him to advise the Secretary for India to consult. Mr. Gandhi.on the Congress viewpoint. before the final touches are given to the White Paper on constitutional proposals. HURT BY OWN BOMB Bengal Youths Captured Calcutta, May 6. Two Bengali youths found loitering in the early morning near Sibpur Howrah police station were challenged mid promptly replied by bombarding the building, slightly injuring the sentry and seriously damaging tlie structure. While they were running away, another bomb exploded, wounding the pair, who wer arrested. Tlie bombs used were of Hie deadliest type.
