Ministerial. The Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, Prime Minister, returned to Wellington from Auckland by the Limited express yesterday morning. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Finance, arrived back in Wellington from the north by the Limited express yesterday morning. The Hon. J. Bitchener, Minister of Public Works, who has been on a visit to the North Auckland district, returned to Wellington yesterday. The Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Lands, returned to Wellington from Dannevirke yesterday afternoon. The Hon. J. A. Young., Minister of Health, will return to Wellington from Auckland by the Limited express this morning. Mr. A. M. Samuel, M.P., has been ordered to, take a rest. He is spending a fortnight at Rotorua. The Rev. 11. Bloomfield, of Moree, Northern New South Wales, is on a visit to his son in 'Berhampore. Mr. Albert Spencer, president of the Auckland Employers’ Association, is visiting Sydney and Melbourne. Colonel and Mrs. A. J. Thompson have returned to Auckland after a six months’ tour of the Dominion. Sir Hubert Wilkins left Auckland on Saturday in the Monterey on a brief visit to America.. He expects to be back in about six weeks. Mr. G. G. Hodgkins, Chief Electoral officer, left Wellington for the South Island on departmental business by the inter-island steamer last evening. Mr. C. B. Harley, chief passenger clerk of the Huddart-Parker Co., Sydney, wjll arrive at Wellington by the Wanganella to-day. Mr. S. S. Millington, Comptroller of Railway Stores, was a passenger for Sydney in the Monowai from Auckland last week.

Mr. Sieh Ming Chang, secretary of the Suu Yet, Sen University, Canton, left -Auckland in the Monowai on Friday last for Sydney after a brief holiday in New Zealand. Mr. H. M. McKay, managing director of New Zealand Airways, Ltd., will arrive from the South Island this morning by steamer and will stay at the Hotel St. George. Mr. A. O. Heany, Secretary of the Associated Chambers of Commerce, is visiting the South Island. He will return to Wellington in about a week’s time.

The Rev. H. K. Archdall, headmaster of King’s College, Auckland, arrived in Wellington yesterday by the Limited express to attend the annual conference of the association of heads of registered secondary schools. He is at the Ho!el Cecil.

Mr. E. O’Sullivan, joint general manager of the English, Scottish, and Australian Bank, Ltd., has been elected chairman of the Associated Banks of Australia in place of Mr. W. A. Leitch, the general manager of the Union Bank of Australia, Ltd., whose term of office as chairman has expired. Mr. T. P. Laurenson, district manager of the Auckland branch of the Government Insurance Department, has been promoted supervisor, head office, Wellington. His place will be taken by Mr. G. L. Osborne, at present chief clerk in Wellington. Mr. E. K. Fox, of the Auckland office, is being transferred to Hamilton. Mr. J. D. Swan has been elected president of the Auckland Little Theatre Society for the ensuing year, .’dr. Swan was with the Southend Operatic Society, England, 27 years ago, and was one of the founders of the important Westeliff Operatic Society. He has been associated with amateur theatricals in New Zealand for many years.
