Forecast: Southerly winds, moderate to strong, but gradually decreasing. . Seas rough north of Farewell Spit and south of East Cape; elsewhere moderate in New Zealand waters. , Moderate to fresh southerly winds with moderate to rather rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. , , ~ Weather fine in the western districts of the South Island; elsewhere changeable with scattered showers, but gradually improving except between Hawkes Bay and East Cape. Cold temperatures, with inland frosts.
