MYSTERIOUS THEFT

Lead From Roof of City Building AUCKLAND DISCOVERY By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, May 7. One of the most mysterious thefts committed in Auckland, that of between five and six hundredweight of lead flashing from the roof of Campbell House, a large city building, is engaging the attention ot file police. Tlie theft was discovered when two plumbers were sent to inspect the roof following a severe leak that resulted in part of the Peter Pan cabaret, on the top floor of the building, being flooded to a depth ot about a quartet of an inch. The missing lead is valued at between £2O and £3O. All the lead flashing along Hie western side of the roof was torn away.
