SHOOTING ACCIDENT
Hawke’s Bay Farmer Injured By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hastings, May 7. Mr. Frederick H. A. Burling, aged 32. a farmer, of Patoka, was seriously injured when a .22 rifle discharged and he received tlie bullet in his stomach while he was rabbit shooting on his property this afternoon. Mr. Burling struck the ground with the butt of the rifle, which discharged at tlie impact. Ho successfully underwent an operation at a late hour to-night, but his condition is still critical.
