MILK FOR CHILDREN

Smith Family Benefit at De Luxe Theatre Once again on Saturday morning Kemball Theatres, Ltd., made the De Luxe Theatre available to the Smith Family for the purpose of raising funds for a supply of milk for the under-nourished children of .Wellington. The arrangement is that any child may attend the performance on presentation of one of the municipal milk department’s pint milk tokens. These, of course, are redeemed by the department through the agency of the Smith Family, who receive the milk so represented, which is then distributed to the under-nourished children in the State schools of the city. This, with help from other quarters, ensures that the children most in need of this form of sustenance receive half a pint of milk per day on school days throughout ithe winter months. The result of this nietary aid has been found to be wonderfully beneficial. Headmasters, school teachers, and parents alike have chorused their whole-hearted approval of the milk ration scheme for school children, and wish it could be extended to all the children. A capital and well selected programme of pictures was arranged by the manager (Mr. Eyre), who gave a very full quart measure in return for the pint token. On account of the weather the attendance was scarcely so numerous as the previous month; still, Wellington Junior was well represented. and enjoyed a wonderful two-hour show.
