ROAD CYCLING
Race in Hutt Valley A 15-uiile road cycling race held by the Hutt Valley Cycling Club on Saturday was won by E. Ward off the 7miu. murk. T) Roe (ser.) gaining fastest time. The course was from Petone to Stokes Valley and back. In spite of the adverse weather conditions 16 riders faced the starter. The 'road was slippery, Nattrass falling at Nai Nai and F. Roe at the turn. T. Roe off the scratch mark caught the oneminute men. B. King and J. Morris, at the V.I.G. on the way back. E. Ward off the limit finished fully a minute ahead of the second man. King -was very lucky in that a blow-out was delayed till 25 yards after passing the line. Riders are reminded that they will not be allowed to ride in any future race unless registered.
