On the recommendation of the fire prevention committee, the Upper Hutt Borough Council has decided to purchase 1000 ft. of hose at a cost of £Bl 10/-, and 20 military tunics at n cost of £B/10/-, for Ihe Upper Hutt and Silverslreitin Volunteer Fire Brigades. The Upper Hutt brigade will receive 600 ft. of hose, and the Silverstream brigade 400 ft., and the tunics will be divided equally between the two brigades.
