Winter and Summer Games

Spectators will have the choice of both winter and summer sports in Wellington this afternoon. ’The fixtures set down include cricket. Rugby and Association football, tennis and golf. Further details are as follow:— Cricket. j The Wellington and Christchurch branches of the Shipping Officers’ Guild will play their annual cricket match for the Kitcbing Memorial Cup at Anderson Park to-da.v. Play will begin at 10.15 a.in. Rugby. At Athletic Park this afternoon th? following Rugby matches will ,be played : Poneke Av. Athletic A; Poneke B v. Athletic B. and Marist v. Berhampore. Hutt A will play Oriental at the Hutt and Petoue v. Eastbourne is set down for Petone. Tennis. A match between teams representing the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association and the Hutt Valley sub-associa-tion will begin at Miramar at 1.30 this afternoon. Association. Various association football clubs will be at. practice this afternoon, and in some cases matches have been arranged. Golf. Golf competitions are now in full swing again. At Manor Park a best-ball-foiir-ball bogey, senior partnered with junior, will be held to-day. A teams match, president's v. club captain’s, will be played to-iqorrow. A Hag match will bo played by members of the Titahi Ladies’ Club during the week-end. players to arrange their own partners. Rifle Shooting. The Suburbs Defence Riffe Club will fire its second and third series today at ranges of 500 and 600 yards on the Sommerville range. Trentham. q’lie Karori club will fire the seventh match of its championship series at Trentham this afternoon at 500 and 600 yards. The match will count also for the Johnston and Collins Cups and also for tlie Judd and Randell aggregate.
