GIRL’S GLIDING FEAT
Fast Cross-Channel Flight London, April 5. Starting from Frankfort yesterday in a German glider towed by aeroplane. Miss .loan Meakin, a 24-year-old London airwoman, to-day took off from Ostend and landed at Lytnpne 74 minutes later. Miss Meakin said that the cross-Channel glide at a height of 2000 feet was lovely.
Later she glided to Heston in an hour, looping seven times before landing.
