Fire in Rai Valley By Telegraph.—Press Association. Blenheim, April 5. The Rai Valley dairy factory was totally destroyed by fire last night. The insurances were £2400 on the building,- £2600 on the plant, and £2OO on cheese fop local consumption, all in the South British office. There was also £5OO on cheese for export, this policy being with the Dairy Produce Control Board. The Post Office on the opposite side of the road was badly scorched. The factory was in the centre of an extensive dairying district, and it had been handling 10,000 pounds ’of milk daily. The farmers will now have to separate on the farm and send the cream to Blenheim and other factories. The property was owned by the Rai Valley Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd.
