DANGER TO AIRMEN
Eagles and Vultures in India SIX ACCIDENTS CAUSED Calcutta, March 18. Aeroplane accidents caused by eagles and vultures are becoming a grave menace. The sixth case in a short period occurred near Calcutta yesterday. A machine flying from Dacca struck a vulture at an altitude of 3000 feet, the Indian pilot vainly attempting to avoid the bird, which hit the wing. He landed in a rice field, badly shaken. The aeroplane was not seriously damaged.
