RATE OF EXCHANGE TO STAND
End of the Export Season PRIME MINISTER GIVES ASSURANCE Bv Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, March 19. The exchange rate will not be reconsidered until the end of the export season, according to a statement made by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, this evening. Mr. Forbes said he could not comment otherwise on the contention of the “Financial News,” cabled from London. that an early downward adjustment of the exchange was needed in the general interest. “There was a definite undertaking that there would be no interference with the exchange until the end of the export season,” said Mr. Forbes. “The Government has no intention of departing from that position.”
