OLD NAVAL TACTICS REVIVED
Lesson of Manoeuvres BACK TO TRADITIONS OE! NELSON AND HAWKE By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received March .16, 8.40 p.m.) London, March 16. Mr. Hector Bywater, ; in the "Daily Telegraph,” says that it is clear from the manoeuvres that the Navy has revived tactical principles which not only authorise but enjoin admirals to attack the enemy whenever and wherever found. It would sebm that the Navy is reverting to'the traditions of Nelson and Hawke. Ninety ships engaged in the. naval manoeuvres returned to : Gibraltar, where the docks are full of craft requiring repairs. It is significant that over . 100 aircraft; were present at the climax of the exercises, and not one was able to engage owing to the storm. All the old destroyers were also unable to face the elements, but the new craft did well.
