SALE TIME IS HERE
Sale-time is here, writes an exchange, offering us opportunities for bargains in every department, and the amateur dress maker can reap* a really golden harvest from wise purchases at the fabric- counter. Bargain-hunting is a serious job, however, and should be undertaken methodically if tlie best results are to be obtained. There's certainly a thrill in buying, something yon have not planned, but let this be the exception rather than the rule. In the main some sort of system should lie followed. Make a note, for instance, of tlie colours that suit you and that will harmonise with the clothes you have already. Then a good idea is to write down the amounts of material you require to make such items as a blouse, camikniekers, a pair of sleeves, an evening cape, a scarf and cap, etc. Thus you will save time for yourself and for the assistant serving you. Remnants of lingerie fabrics are seldom a mis-take, but choose the best you can afford, or your time and money might be wasted, if colours fade and materials shrink or “go poor” after laundering.
