HEALTH AND BEAUTY
League Founded in Britain (Reuter—Special to “The Dominion.”) London, December 28. More and more business girls in Britain are now devoting part of their spare time to improving their physique, thus following the example set in post-war years by the many athletic chibs of Germany and Italy. Three years ago -Mrs. Bagot Stack founded the British League of Health and Beauty, which offered facilities for da neing and exercise for women of all ages. She started with sixteen members. In two years' time she had 4500. Now the number has grown to 20,000 members, and when the league gave its annual demonstration they had to hire the Albert Hall to accommodate the members and spectators. ’ The league’ now publishes Its own magazine in which all aspects of the “body beautiful” are discussed, and many brunches have been established throughout Great Britain and Ireland.
