Action Against Fukien
Forces
Shanghai, December 18.
It is reported that a well-organised offensive has been begun against the rebel Fukien forces, who are supported by Communists from the Kiennlng and Kienyang areas. Skirmishes commenced at the week-end. Major hostilities are expected at the end of the week.
Australian wheatgrowers and flourmillers will be most adversely affected as a result of the new high tariffs by Nanking on all future imports of wheat and flour into China. The duties were imposed for the purpose of bolstering up the nation’s military expenditure on the Fukien campaign.
