AGREEMENT REACHED
Shop Assistants’ Wages APPLICATION FOR AWARD At a further meeting between representatives of the employers and of the workers’ union held at the office of the New Zealand Employers’ Federation on Monday afternoon for the purpose of discussing the wages for retail shop assistants for the Wellington industrial district, a complete agreement was reached and the Arbitration Court will be asked to embody the terms of the agreement in an award. The employers were represented by Messrs. S?E. S. Sheard, W. Simin, D. S. Patrick, A. .P. Smith and T. O. Bishop, and the union by Messrs. P. Walsh and A. W. Croskery. The terms of settlement will be adopted also by the employers and workers in the northern and Otago and Southland industrial districts.
