fiereworth Annual Sports There was a large gathering of pare’nts and friends at the annual sports of the Hereworth School. The. senior championship was won by H. li. Earl flpi points), J. F. Logan (Hi) being runner-up. A. St. H. Vallanca won the junior championship with 12 points, W. P. Spence being runner-up with 10 points. The tennis championships were won by M. Qi W. Ormond (singles) and J. H. Arkwright and M. C. W. Ormond (doubles) with W. E. Nilsson and N. F. Neilson and W. E. Nilsson runners-up respectively. The golf championship was annexed by J. H. Mauriceville School Eketahuna, December 18. The pupils'of the Mauriceville School prespptod an excellent concert to a packed house last week. The first part of rite programme was contributed by welltrained juniors and the remainder by the senior school. At the conclusion of the concept, the head-mistress, Mrs. Childs and Miss Breen were presented with bouquets, and Mrs. Childs was presented with a handbag by Donald Cameron on behalf of the school. Terrace End School Palmerston North, December 19. The pupils of standard six at the Terrace End School were farewelled this morning at a pleasant little gathering at the school. Words of counsel were given to the children by the chairman of the school committee, Mr. W. L. Macpherson, and the headmaster. Mr. W. A. Thompson. Certificates were presented to the girl dux of the school, Nola Clochetto, and the boy dux, Mouty Hirtzell. Two special prizes presented by Mr. J. H. Nash for general knowledge were presented to Douglas Caiman and Gwynneth Dobson respectively. George Young was presented with Mr. D. Biel’s prize for the most consistent work during the year. Queta Southgate and Jack Randall were awarded the headmaster's prize for the most good work points during the year. J. Hardie was presented with Mr. L. Cookery’s medal for the most improved cricketer.
